Thought I should post on here, just to bring this comment of yours to your attention ;)

I think the "Wii" name has done absolutely NO HARM AT ALL to Nintendo :D

(In fact... I think I was probably right that "people will get used to the name anyway" - donchya think?

I have now had time to calm down and I think that the name change may be a very cleaver marketing move. The whole internet is talking about Nintendo which can't be a bad thing. Besides with E3 just over a week away chances are they will change the name again. I forgot about the Jaguar, I might have to see if they are cheap on ebay and get me one :-)

"biggest mistake in gaming history" - hmm, a bit extreme?

Yep, the name is awful - and will possible put any child of wanting one in the UK, simply because of the onslaught they would get from other kids - but I can think of much worse things in gaming history than this: how about the Amstrad Games Console, the GX4000? (Or the Amiga CD32 for that matter, although not quite as awful).

Or much more distressing for real game fanatics: the abject failure of Atari to make the Jaguar console succeed, even though it was miles ahead of the competition at the time (but bizarrely came out with no games, and an expensive add-on CD drive that made it look like a toilet...)

Not to mention the mess Commodore made of the Amiga itself... (though that is more sad for the PC industry than gaming).

Maybe people will get used to the name anyway, and forget its connotations? Well, here's hoping...
