Isaac’s First Day In Nursery

Yesterday was Isaac’s first full day in Nursery. It all went OK, he slept both in he morning and evening. He also ate a lot of his food, especially his pudding! He seamed good when we picked him up too.

The nursery we have picked is Bridge House, which is attached to Ashford School. I am sure we have made the right choice in nursery and Faye seams to be enjoying the challenges of being back at work.

I am always saying I will post more pictures, but I will! I will do another post soon with some 9 month pictures of Isaac and some picture of our day out to Hever Castle which we visited on my Birthday. Thanks all for my Birthday cards and presents :-)

Some Thoughts and a Web Update

I have been thinking again recently that I really need to overhaul this site as it is looking old again. I have also been thinking that I have never really found the right balance with my blog, I can’t decide if I should blog about technical and web bits like a mate of mine Phil or if I should just post about personal events. I’m guessing I should probably blog about both. Also recently I have been getting into twitter as a way to post short updates between blog posts. One thing I would like to add to this site is a lifestream that pulls data from my various online accounts and displays it here as an aggregated feed. Yongfook does this on his site and does it very well. Then I got thinking with my increased presence on other sites like twitter, last.fm and linkedin etc I link all these sites back to hpoom but I do not have a decent about me page on hpoom. So another thing to add to the to-do list a proper about me page.

The other thing I am contemplating at the moment is if I know enough about web technologies to do extra work outside of my job at Holiday Extras. The kind of work I am thinking about is speaking about web technologies and solutions or consulting my knowledge in these areas to anybody that would like to pay me for my knowledge. I think now with over 9 years of Web Development experience that I do know enough to consult in these areas. Anyway I have written about it here now so that might spur me on to look into this more.

OK one last thing to balance all the tech talk above. Isaac is still doing really well. Being a Dad is great especially when you get in from work and Isaac gives me a big smile. I will post an Isaac update soon with some more pictures.

OK so I have not been as good as I was hoping I would be at posting photos of Isaac. Finally here are some more photos of the little man. These are all from week three to week nine.

Both Faye and I are starting to get the hang of this parenting lark. Isaac is doing really well he is 13lb1 now and growing well. In the last week he has started getting very vocal and the week before he started smiling.

Thank you all again for the lovely clothes you have given Isaac, he likes them all. More photos soon… Hopefully :-)

Baby boy is here – Isaac Russell Wood – Week One

So it has happened. Faye gave birth to a lovely baby boy on Monday 15th September 2008 at 10:31pm. He weighed 8lb9 and we have named him Isaac Russell Wood.

The first week has been busy and tiring, but Isaac and Faye are both well. Here are some photos for you all, as lots of people have been asking me for some. I will try to give regular updates here so you can all see how he is progressing.

Thanks for all the cards and messages.

Baby due today, but no news yet…

As most of you know Faye my wife is expecting our first born today. For those that didn’t know, you know now. We have our car seat now, a nice Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix in Trail colour. Tonight we should get our pushchair, a Phil & Teds Sport in Apple Green. Also we have our nice fluffy Bamboo reusable nappies, which are cool.

With the help of my Dad we now have a wardrobe in the nursery. I just need to finish decorating now, I will get round to it eventually.

Anyway just thought I would post to say no news yet but once there is some news or pictures I will post them here for all to see.

Thanks for all the thoughts and wishes!

Site has a new design

I have now uploaded my new site design. The site was starting to look dated so I have redesigned it. It now not only looks better but should be easier to navigate. I have not added any new features yet, but the new design should make it easier for me to add new features to the site in the future, so keep you eyes peeled. The big changes are variable width site based on browser size, and images appear in a lightbox now instead of a new page.

Please leave comments and feedback on the new site design as I would love to hear what people think!
